Mission Statement

Our school is a comprehensive high school (8th-12th grades) which offers a wide range of college and career courses in areas to meet all of our students in academic and vocational areas. Through the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders—administration, teachers, staff, parents, students and community it is our goal to ensure that all of our students are prepared for college and careers as they graduate from Bonnabel Magnet Academy and become productive citizens in our community.

Vision Statement

The vision of Bonnabel Magnet Academy is one where the administrative team acts as the instructional and systemic leaders at our school by sharing their knowledge with our staff to build strong teacher leaders. These strong teacher leaders will ensure that our students are College and Career ready, so that they can be viable members of a competitive workforce.   Teachers will deliver rigorous and relevant instruction that challenges our students’ critical thinking skills so they reach higher levels of achievement. The students will work in various groups with differentiated instruction from their teachers so they can develop skills to accomplish the Common Core State Standards. The standards will allow our students to think critically and focus on deeper understanding of English, math, and literacy skills by collaboration and problem solving with peers so they can articulate their thought processes with teachers and peers. Our students will work together to solve problems; engage in conversations around the standards and dig deeply into concepts for a truer understanding of their knowledge. The teachers will step aside and will no longer be the focal point of instruction, thereby allowing our students to drive the instruction and discussion of their classes at Bonnabel. All of our stakeholders will participate in discussions about what students need to know, assessing student learning, analyzing student performance data, and brainstorming ways to provide intervention and enrichment opportunities for students. Our school culture will be a place where everyone feels supported and respected as we all work towards helping students reach higher levels of achievement.
