Profile:
Boron Junior Senior High School is a California Distinguished School (1990/1992/2001) with distinguished teachers and staff.  We are considered one of the best small schools in the Antelope Valley and proud of the staff who make this a special place.  Our school serves a student population of about 300 students from grades 7-12 in the communities of Boron, Desert Lake, North Edwards, Aerial Acres, and Kramer Junction.  The common transportation linking these communities is State Highway 58.  Generally, the population falls within the lower to middle socioeconomic group. Boron is a rural mining community and got its name from the boron compound known as borax, which is found in the area. The major employers in the area are U.S. Borax Inc., the Air Force Flight Test Center (Edwards AFB), the Air Force Research Laboratory, and Kramer Junction Corporation (KJC), which operates one of the world's largest solar power facilities.
