It is the commitment of Butte View Staff that when a student enters our classroom, we will do all in our power to assist each student in being successful at whatever that student's educational goal is and for him/her to gain the confidence to take charge of their educational future. We strongly believe that teachers, parents and students must act as a team to assure success.
Learning at Butte View ia self-paced with the student setting his/her own time for accomplishment of the assigned work. Although learning is self-paced, this is not an excuse to do nothing. We expect students to be productive in each class.
"CREDIT" is earned based upon the amount of work accomplished and competency demonstrated.
"GRADES" are compiled based on the quantity of work completed, quality of the work and student behavior in the classroom.
Butte View students may also participate in vocational programs provided by the Regional Occupational Program and Work Experience. If qualified, students may also take classes at Sutter High School. This gives them the opportunity to take elective or enrichment classes not offered at Butte View.
From time to time, our school will take educational field trips. Eligibility to attend these trips is based upon acceptable classroom behavior, attendence, and productivity.
Butte View High School is one of the alternative education programs provided by the Sutter Union High School District. We offer a more flexible educational environment that provides smaller class sizes, a student-centered curriculum that is individualized with increased personal counseling services.
It is our goal to provide students an opportunity to get back on track educationally, meet their personal goals, and improve their feeling of self worth and responsibility.
