Our mission is to empower and inspire our students to:

Achieve Excellence

Learn Passionately

Live with Integrity

Cedartown High School was founded in 1887. The high school grew as the town and county developed into the 20th century. With the turning of a new century, new things came to CHS. A football team in 1903, a new building in the 1930s, additions of vocational classes, and a school band came into being in 1941. The high school stayed at its "new" location on West Avenue for nearly 40 years. Memories of the roar at Gray Field at the Cedartown vs. Rockmart football games still loom in the heart of Cedartown today. In 1970, the present facility was built at the corner of U.S. 278 and U.S. 27. This new building incorporated one of the first comprehensive high schools in this area. Presently, we enroll approximately 1500 students and are classified as a 3A school by the Georgia High School Association. We believe strongly in the importance of education and character and strive to teach students the necessities they need to succeed in life. Our mascot is the Bulldog and our colors are red and black. The Bulldog symbolizes strength and endurance. The color red represents the courage and strength while the black stands for serious aims. CHS equips our students for service.

Just as the last verse of our Alma Mater says:

Hail to thee our Alma Mater

Let us pledge anew,

Faithful, loyal, willing service

Cedartown, to you.
