Nestled in a quiet valley adjacent to Coal Creek, Erie has long been known as a town “off the beaten path.” Located between two major state highways alongside the northeastern range of the majestic Rocky Mountains, the Erie community is a rapidly growing area. Erie’s serene country lifestyle is an attractive choice for many who work in the larger, surrounding areas of Denver, Boulder and Longmont. The Erie community boasts three private airports and a wide variety of neighborhoods. The wildlife setting in our area is conducive to bald eagles and red tail hawks, which are frequently seen tracking prey in the skies around town.
Erie High School is an Advanced Placement/Honors Focus School with an Engineering and Aerospace Academy. These rigorous academic programs provide students at Erie High School the opportunity to conduct collegiate level work, earn college credits and forge potential career networking opportunities, all of which prepare students to be college and career ready. Because of the rigorous opportunities provided to our students, Erie High School was chosen by the College Board to host one of the first AP Capstone programs in the State. Students at Erie High School take achievement to the next level in the classroom AND in the athletic arena.
Erie’s mission statement: “To educate every student in a respectful and caring environment that celebrates success and honors every individual.
