Northfield Township High School District 225 is comprised of two high schools, Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook and Glenbrook South High School in Glenview. The villages of Northbrook and Glenview are well known for their quality of living. Residents place a high priority on education in Glenview and Northbrook, and realtors cite the quality of the schools as one of the most important reasons people purchase homes in the area.
Community spirit thrives and local organizations provide over $125,000 annually in scholarships for Glenbrook students. The presence of corporate international headquarters and other businesses provide a strong tax base, and the high school tax rate is one of the lowest in the surrounding area. Both suburbs have recently experienced a surge of building on the last remaining land parcels through the sale of what is known as the Techny property and development of the former Glenview Naval Air Station. Each school is situated on a 70 acre campus-like setting.
