About Grafton High School
Grafton High School opened its doors for the first time on September 3, 1996. It is located on the left hand side of the Grafton School Complex which houses both Grafton High and Grafton Middle School. The building's physical plant contains three sections - a 1,000-student capacity middle school, a 1,300-student capacity high school, and shared core facilities. Communal spaces such as the auditorium, Kiva, gymnasiums, central kitchen, parking lots, and athletic fields saved the taxpayers of York County approximately $4 million in construction costs! The two schools share central clinic and media facilities with separate high school and middle school areas. The $25 million project was designed from the ground up to incorporate modern technological innovations. Classrooms contain televisions, public address/telephone intercom systems, digital clocks, chalk-less white boards, and access to an integrated media retrieval system for laser disks, video cassettes, and CD ROMS. This facility was designed to optimize learning opportunities for both students and staff.
