Harvard High School offers both vocational and college preparatory curricula. The college preparatory curriculum offers four years of study in mathematics, English, science, social studies and Spanish. Advanced Placement classes are offered in English IV, Biology, Chemistry, and Calculas. The vocational curriculum offers extensive study in agriculture, horticulture, business, industrial technology, home economics, building trades and health occupations. In addition, students may elect courses in art, music, and computer science.

Forming a cooperative with McHenry County College and taking advantage of the Internet high school known as Illinois Virtual High School have expanded the curriculum. Harvard High School students have the opportunity to earn high school and college credit while taking classes at MCC in automotive technology, electronics, nuring assistants, basic home health care and plastics technology. These courses are the result of the McHenry County TECH-PREP Initiative.

Illinois Virtual High School is a curriculum extension program offered to state and private high schools by the Illinois State Board of Education. The courses are taught through the Internet media. Students have the opportunity to enroll in sixteen classes that are not taught here. Eight of these classes are Advanced Placement. Students may take these classes at home or during school time
