The Junior High School holds all of School District 50's fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. When entering Harvard Junior High, students change from a self-contained concept to a departmentalized middle school setting. Besides a basic educational curriculum, the Junior High amd High School departments work closely to ensure that the total curriculum enhances the overall development of the student and ensures a smooth transition to Harvard High School. The Junior High provides advanced classes at the sixth through eighth grades. All fifth through eithth grade students choose from exploratory classes in Spanish, art, music and computer. All students are scheduled into the computer lab through their academic classes. Students also have access to a modern library for research and leisure reading. Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are offered to broaden opportunities to educate the whole child. Student Government and Builders' Club are organizations that encourage students to exercise leadership skills while investigating service to community.
