The program of studies of the Hershey High School is planned to meet the needs of the youth of the Derry Township School District. A major task of the school is to accommodate learners with divergent needs, goals, capabilities and interests. To this end, an effort is made to nurture individual skills and to satisfy individual needs. It is also the responsibility of the school to furnish opportunities for students to participate in cultural activities that may otherwise not be available to them. Extracurricular and enrichment programs are offered to satisfy this aspect.
Hershey High School was built in 1996 and expanded in 2007. The facility is 231,000 square feet, has a card access system; phone/television/internet access in all classrooms; auditorium seating for 1,300; two CAD labs; classrooms for family and consumer sciences; full gym, weight and cardio exercise rooms; full band and orchestra/chorus rooms; three art rooms; closed circuit television capacity; a production office and library/media center.
