Hudson High School, home of the Explorers!  Why the Explorers? Two notable explorers played important roles in our city's history. Hudson's origin stems from a settlement of the Connecticut Land Company; hence, it's New England charm! Around 1800, David Hudson led surveyors through Eastern forests to explorer the territory of what was to become Hudson Township. Later in history, in the 1930's, Lincoln Ellsworth made important contributions to aviation as he led expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. Ellsworth, the namesake of Ellsworth Elementary on the corner of Stow and Middleton, is buried in Hudson; he grew up here and he attended Western Reserve Academy. Each year we say goodbye to approximately 400 well-prepared graduates who are eager to explore their respective paths as leaders, scholars, and productive citizens.

Hudson High School continues to rank among the top public high schools in our region, state and beyond. Outstanding performances and accomplishments in music, art and athletics complement our number one mission: academic achievement!
