The role of the school is to prepare students for life. All decisions of the board members, administrators and teachers are aimed at providing the best possible education for the children of the community. The educational program is designed to meet the social, mental and physical needs of the Unit #10 students. The policies and procedures contained in this handbook are the result of a concerted effort on the part of the Board of Education, administration and faculty to achieve the above goals. This information has been carefully prepared and presented so that it will be of value in helping students adjust to school and to become an integral part of Iroquois West High School. The ultimate purpose of education is to help each student become an effective citizen in democracy. Developing and accepting the responsibilities and obligations of good citizenship will help all to participate successfully in the world. We hope that students will participate in varied activities within Iroquois West High School in order to receive a well-rounded education. Iroquois West High School welcomes all students and we hope that everyone will always be conscious of its tradition and requirements.
