Mission:

The mission of Jacksonville High School is to prepare students for college and career opportunities with progressive, invigorating, innovative, high-yield, and technology-rich instruction through the ongoing collaborative partnership of all stakeholders as we celebrate the successes of our diverse school family and pursue excellence in teaching and learning.

Vision:

Jacksonville High School’s vision is to be a high performing school.  Through the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, students will be encouraged to exercise self-discipline and actively participate in a rigorous curriculum.  Highly qualified students, teachers, support staff, and parents will be committed to meeting the needs of all students.  Our goal is for the graduation rate to be 100% and for students to be well prepared for college and career opportunities.  Progress will be supported by facilities that are state of the art, low teacher/student ratio and vast use of current technology.

Beliefs:

that through stakeholders’, staffs’, and students’ internal motivation, the school will recognize opportunities to show appreciation, acceptance, and caring to instill personal life lessons in students

that parents, guardians, and community members are a vital part of the educational process

that through accountability and engagement, students will be challenged with a rigorous curriculum at their current pace and level

that the school will provide diverse, positive role models and an increased awareness of  cultural and personal differences

that through character development our students will be better prepared and productive citizens

that through the use of sufficient resources, including technology, career/ occupational courses, fine arts, and extra-curricular activities, material will be made relevant to real-world situations

that teachers will have high expectations for students and will invest in the ongoing development of lessons that help students achieve academically.
