Kenston High School offers a varied curriculum of academic, elective, and vocational classes. All courses are designed to meet the individual needs, abilities, and future plans of students.
A wide variety of AP and advanced classes are offered in the areas of Computer Science, Math, Science, English and Social Studies. In math, numerous courses are designed to meet various student abilities and interest areas including Functions and Trigonometry, Pre Calculus and Discrete Mathematics, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. Math Lab offers individualized assistance to students.
Science offerings include regular and Honors classes in CPE Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The unique Western Geology Field Trip offers specialized experiences to students during a one month summer trip to Western states.
English classes include College Preparation, Honors, and Advanced levels of instruction, Speech, and electives such as Creative Writing, Journalism, and Reading. A Writing Center provides assistance to students with their writing and creativity skills.
Social Studies classes include AP classes, American History, World Studies, Government, and Economics. Foreign Language classes include Spanish, French, Russian, and student trips to Russia, France, and Spain.
Fine Arts offerings include Art and Music classes. Four different levels of Art, Ceramics classes, and vocal and instrumental music options are available for student selection. Our band competed in state-level competitions for the last three years and has hosted the combined band and choir competition in previous years.
Extensive business education classes, Technology Education, and computer classes at all grade levels are available to students. A new IBM computer lab and networking of the high school expands student computer options. The most current computer equipment is available in the AP Computer Science classroom.
Classes in Health/Physical Education, Life and Consumer Sciences, and Broadcast Arts offer expanded student options. Unique opportunities in Broadcast Arts are available for 11th and 12th graders through the school’s radio station.
Kenston students in grades 11 and 12 may choose to pursue vocational studies offered at the Auburn Career Center. Career and Technical or College Tech Prep are the two pathways offered at ACC. Students can chose from six curriculum clusters, including business management, information technology, environmental & agricultural, health services, human resources & services, and industrial & engineering.
