Manhattan Junior High, built in 1994, enrolls 384 students with 22 teachers, plus support staff. Art, computers, music, supervised Internet Access, foreign language and band are offered in addition to core subjects. Gifted science, math and reading programs strengthen the curriculum. A wide range of activities which include sports, drama, journalism, choir, cheerleading and Student Council provide opportunities for enrichment. Special student assistance is available through speech and language therapy, a psychologist, social worker, and LD resource room. Community volunteers assist the school.
