McConnellsburg High School is located in Fulton County in South Central Pennsylvania and is part of the Appalachian region. It is nestled between Tuscarora Mountain and Sideling Hill Mountain. The town is composed of a major industry, a medical center, many small businesses and numerous family farming operations. McConnellsburg is a rural and scenic community with a welcoming character and historical background.

McConnellsburg High School was established in the early 1900’s. The existing facility was built in 1973. In 2001, MHS began an extensive renovation. In December of 2002 our new high school was finished and dawns a fresh new appearance.

McConnellsburg High School is proud of it’s dedicated and proficient staff. MHS has 22 teachers covering grades nine through twelve meeting all the needs of its student body.

Students at MHS are among the finest in Fulton County, excelling in academic, athletic and extra-curricular activities. Enrollment at the start of the 2002-2003 school year totaled 312 in grades 9 through 12. The average class size is 14 to 20 students per teacher.

McConnellsburg High School offers approximately 80 courses including advanced placement, academic, business, vocational-technical, distant learning programs and college courses in conjunction with Allegany College of Maryland. MHS is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction. Students are individually scheduled into classes which are designed to meet their particular abilities and interests. MHS strives diligently to prepare its students for post secondary schools and/or the work force.

MHS also offers a full range of services for students with special needs. Learning support, emotional support itinerant programs, speech and language services are available. An age appropriate Life Skills classroom is available on campus. Itinerant hearing support, vision support, physical therapy, and occupational therapy are available through the district’s intermediate unit.
