Montgomery High School received the coveted U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award in October 1993, the award was testimony to the high quality student body, an exemplary faculty and administration, and the interest of the parents in the education process. While the school has grown from 400 students in 1991 to over 1400 students in 2004, it has successfully maintained the personal, nurturing atmosphere of a small school, while providing students an extensive array of honors, Advanced Placement, and college preparatory courses that are often only available in a larger school setting. In many ways, Montgomery High School is more like a private school than a traditional public school, as evidenced by its high academic rating and the competitiveness of the Students.

The students, staff, administration, and parents of Montgomery are not willing to rest upon the successes of the past, but work in concert to explore new ways to guarantee that Montgomery High School remains one of New Jersey’s premier high schools, despite unprecedented growth in the community.

A state-of-the-art media center, fiber-optic linked computer network, and new science laboratories are some of the special features provided to our students to ensure that the tradition of excellence continues into the next century. While the students are exposed to the latest technology, the faculty continues to challenge students to think critically and to write well. Our students’ extensive involvement in co-curricular activities also helps to prepare them to be strong leaders.
