Mission :
The mission of Phillips High School is to develop success- oriented,
responsible citizens and life-long learners by providing a safe, pleasant,
learning-conducive atmosphere in addition to a challenging curriculum that is
grounded in the basics and provided by a professional,
well-trained and
caring staff.
Phillips High School Beliefs:
All students can
learn, and learning is the main priority of the school.
Students will be
given the opportunity to not only demonstrate their understanding of essential
knowledge, but to become actively involved in the learning process to produce
quality work.
A safe and physically comfortable environment supports and
promotes student learning.
Curriculum and instructional guidelines
support best practices for all levels of student learning, including the special
needs, gifted, and ESL students.
The evaluation process includes
students, faculty, administrators, and parents in determining educational
directions for the school.
Students learn to become life long learners.
Each student is given the opportunity to develop a positive
self-concept, explore career goals, and set priorities by participating in
self-evaluation measures, counseling, and career exploration plans.
The
school is committed to continuous improvement to offer educational services and
the opportunities for the community of learners.
Student assessments
follow the guidelines of Alabama State Department of Education and Marion County
Schools.
Mutual and positive respect among staff, students, and parents
enhance the work of the school.
