In addition to the traditional course offerings, Pleasant offers Advanced Placement courses in Government and Senior English, as well as courses such as Advanced Biology, Chemistry II, Math Analysis, and four years of both French and Spanish. Our high school earned an excellent rating on both the 2003-04 and 2002-03 State Report Cards passing all seven state indications.

Pleasant has one of the largest Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) contingencies at The Ohio State University of Marion, and Marion Technical College among juniors and seniors of any area school. Students taking these college level courses have traditionally earned an A or B. Our 2004 graduating class of 93 students received a total of nearly $1,000,000 in scholarships and grants.

Pleasant offers a wide variety of extra curricular activities in both the areas of athletics and fine arts. Our fine arts programs are noteworthy. Pleasant High School has a Concert Choir, Show Choir (Spartans in Motion), Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Pep Band. This year, our Marching Band and Show Choir will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to take part in the Peach Bowl festivities. Both groups will enter many competitions throughout the year, usually earning very high marks. Additionally, students at our high school will put on two drama productions each year. They are a fall play performed in our gym and a major musical production performed at the Palace Theater in the spring.

Our athletic program continued to be outstanding last year winning eight MOAC Championships while bringing home the overall MOAC All Sports Championship for the fifth consecutive year. The 2003-2004 season was highlighted by the football team finishing 10--0 in the regular season and our girls’ basketball team winning 19 games to finish the year. Pleasant has captured eight State Championships over the years. Recently, we have won State Championships in football (2002 & 1996), boys’ track (2002), and baseball (2001).

Pleasant High School has made several advances in the area of technology in recent years. All grades and daily assignments are on-line for parents to check daily, if desired. In addition, we have recently upgraded our computer lab and installed several computers in the library for student use. There is also a wireless computer lab (with 18 computers) which travels from classroom to classroom as needed. Our new Yearbook Class not only produces the normal hard bound yearbook, but also a digital yearbook containing video and sound.
