The award-winning Fine & Performing Arts Department at Prospect High School provides students with a broad exposure to the visual and performing arts. The curricula consist of many performing ensembles including the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, Concert Choir, Varsity Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, "Girls Stop" (all-female vocal ensemble), One Stop (all-male vocal ensemble), and two Show Choirs - Company & Mixed Company. Students are provided the opportunity to study Harmony and Arranging focusing on music theory, technology, and recording. Art studies include beginning and advanced placement studies in drawing, painting, sculpting, and photography. In addition, Prospect provides the opportunity to compete in congressional debate and speech. Our dance ensemble "Orchesis" performs in an annual recital, State and District Festivals, and sporting events. Annual theater productions include the fall play, winter play, and spring musical, with corresponding courses focusing in drama and theater tech.
