Red Hook High School enjoys a reputation as one of America’s finest high schools. For two years running (May 2005 and May 2006), we were ranked among the top high schools in the country by Newsweek magazine. In the summer of 2002, the International Baccalaureate Organization designated Red Hook High School as an “IB World School”. The richness of our curriculum, the preparation of our faculty, and the achievement of our students confirm a long standing pattern of excellence. Education in Red Hook has historically been an integral part of our community, and the combination of highly motivated students, supportive parents, a talented faculty, and appropriate financial resources suggest that Red Hook High School is a model of what quality public education can be.
We attempt to provide every student with a challenging and appropriate educational experience. In addition to preparing students for college study and for productive adult lives, we emphasize student participation in the broader community. Our extensive roster of athletic opportunities, club activities, and service options are designed to promote the development of well-rounded citizens. There is an enthusiasm for learning and vitality of spirit at this school that underpin all that we do, and we welcome your interest in our school. We are proud of our record of high achievement and look forward to sharing more information about our programs and activities.
