Roosevelt Junior High School was named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States. He led the Rough Riders in the famous charge up San Juan Hill in the Spanish-American War.

In 1951, the old Roosevelt School was moved to it’s current location. Our student population is approximately 900 7th and 8th graders.

Roosevelt Junior High School not only emphasizes reading, writing and mathematics, but also the Fourth R - responsibility. We believe that if students take the responsibility for today’s behavior, they will be able to make responsible decisions in the future.
It is also the aim of Roosevelt School to encourage and assist every student to:

Attain a positive self-image and strive for the highest goals of which each is capable;
Become a responsible, contributing member of the community;
Attain knowledge and skills to become an economically productive worker;
Be physically fit and value participation in fitness and sports activities and;
Become adept in developing positive relationships.
