Mission Statement
Our mission at Suitland High School is to prepare students to be successful in high school through the promotion of literacy and positive citizenship skills. We will accomplish our goals by providing students with the knowledge base and problem-solving skills necessary to successfully meet the Maryland State Department of Education graduation requirements. Students will be informed and oriented towards the possible collegiate, technical and vocational opportunities that will be available to them upon exiting high school. These initiatives will be provided to students in a safe, non-threatening, and trusting environment. We will actively address academic concerns and routinely implement tailored instructional strategies that will meet the individual learning needs of each student, while infusing technology to maximize their learning experience. Our priority will be to ensure that all participating students receive a quality education in a safe environment that promotes mutual respect through collaborative efforts supported by parents, students, staff, and the community. We will have accomplished our goals when students are committed to success and when they display the positive character attributes that will enable them to realize their true potential.
