Objectives

We will increase student achievement:

Beginning with the entering 9th grade class in 2003-04, we will annually increase the number of students who meet or exceed district, state or federal standards by 10% until all students meet or exceed standards.

The Governing Board, Superintendent, principals and all certified employees will annually commit to to teaching/supporting the applicable state curriculum standards as a condition of employment.

We will use all resources to increase student achievement:

We will pass the M & O budget override.

We will offer compensation packages that will equal or exceed those of all districts in Arizona.

We will focus resources to gather, analyze and manage data for decision-making purposes.

We will eliminate 100% of ineffecient spending.

We will recruit and retain highly qualified staff:

All employees will demonstrate competent knowledge as detemined by their evaluation instrument.

All employees will meet or exceed the minimum qualifications or certification for their position.

We will increase, on an annual basis, the pool of qualified applications.

On an annual basis, we will increase development opportunities for all staff.

We will provide a safe, non-violent and drug-free environment.

We believe:

All people are of worth.

All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

In honesty, responsibility, compassion, respect, integrity, desire to learn, trust, cooperation, citizenship and service to others.

Learning is a lifelong process.

All people are responsible and accountable for their actions. Through a partnership of family, community and school, we control the conditions of student success.

Education is necessary to a free society and must be open to all members.

In student learning and success.

Public education must equalize opportunity in developing and improving the quality of life for every individual.
