History:
The Colony High School will celebrate its 20th anniversary in August 2006. The high school first opened in 1986. Every class had matching yellow or black desks, and a pale green chalk board. The school only started with freshmen, sophomores and juniors because seniors still attended Marcus High School. The high school's first principal was Malcolm Dennis. The school first started with 55 minute periods and currently we have block schedule.

The Colony High School has gone through many interesting changes throughout the years. Since the school opened the K-wing, J-wing and H-wing have been added. The school plays were done in room A107 until the PAC was built in 1990. In 2005 the PAC was renamed Bobby L. Watkins Auditorium. Bobby Watkins was the principal at TCHS for many years. In 2004, TCHS added a new gym, to bring the number of gyms to three.

Since our school has opened eight of our teachers have stayed with us through these 20 years, Keigh Martin, Donna Gorosh, Mary Maxwell, Virginia Steward, Elaine Porter, Joe Huntt, Pat Metting, and Lori Stephenson. Throughout our schools history we have been very passionate about our sports. Some of our student-athletes have played their sport professionally. Deron Williams and Bracey Wright, TCHS graduates in 2002, both have contracts with teams in the NBA. Mike Williams, graduate of TCHS in 1999 is currently playing in the NFL. Some former TCHS student-athletes haven't made it to the pros yet, but are currently playing in college. Zach Ashwood, graduate of 2004, is currently attending Texas Christian University. Here is some more information about these and other former TCHS athletes.
