Waynesburg Central High School is a part of a rural community with a rich heritage in farming and mining. We are located just 50 miles south of Pittsburgh and its many cultural and athletic events and just 20 miles north of Morgantown, WV, and the college town of West Virginia University. We are also conveniently located within close proximity of Waynesburg College, Washington & Jefferson College, California University of Pennsylvania, Fairmont State University, Penn State - Fayette.
Waynesburg Central High School is committed to the school district's mission of preparing each of our 750 students to contribute responsibly to society. We are big enough to offer a variety of electives, sports, and extra curricular activities for our 9 th through 12 th grade students but still small enough to give the personal attention that our students deserve. Through academic endeavors, community service, athletics, and extra curricular activities, we provide opportunities for all ages and levels of ability to grow and succeed. Whether it is the nursery child class for preschoolers or after school pool hours for the community retirees or Westmoreland County Community College offerings for adults, we have it all. The convenience of having the Greene County Vocational Technical Center on our adjoining property gives the career bound student a head start while our many AP and California University in the Classroom courses prepare the college minded student for a college campus in their future.
