Vision:
A Xaverian High School education has a profound effect on the lives of its students. As a Xaverian Brothers prep school, we provide academic opportunities to a diverse student body, enabling a realizing of potential, imparting an understanding of commitment, and creating a desire to excel.
About Us:
Xaverian is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school which includes grades 6 - 12 in Brooklyn. Established in 1957, it is one of thirteen schools nationwide sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. One of New York City’s leading schools for over 55 year, Xaverian has graduated a network of 15,000 successful and responsible Catholic alumni, educated in the longstanding tradition of the Xaverian Brothers. True to that tradition, we give our students the opportunity to grow in their faith, intellect, leadership skills, musical passions, athletic talents, and much more.
Faithful to the spirit of its founder, Theodore James Ryken, Xaverian High School responds creatively to the challenges of the present and the future by being a place in which people are attentive to the Lord's call to learn, to serve and to become contributors to the freedom, beauty, and wholeness of themselves and others; where people are prepared to serve their brothers and sisters in ways that are appropriate to their dignity as children of God, and thus become persons living in close relationship with Jesus, their brother.
Xaverian High School is one of 12 Xaverian Brothers' Sponsored Schools. The Xaverian Brothers view the mission of its sponsored schools as that of bringing forth Christ to the people in the school communities. To ensure the integrity of the communication of God's message to these school communities and the conformity of individual lives and teachings to that message, the sponsors see as essential the need to listen carefully and continually to the movement of the Spirit and to nurture the life of the Spirit in the individual schools.
